GETTING OLD...

Is getting old is about wrinkles, grey hair, poor vision, forgetful, joint aches…fear?... or is it a privilege?
Read this…

Two elderly folks from a home for old folks” were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: 'Mok, I'm 77 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?'
Mok says, 'I feel just like a newborn baby.'
'Really!!!? Like a newborn baby!?'
'Yup. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.'
Dear friends...Do not worry or regret growing old…as a matter of fact, it is how you look at things…you don’t have to admit you are growing old either… Don’t take life too seriously!!!...take it in stride man!!!
Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. – Mark Twain

CRAZY VS STUPID

What’s the difference between crazy and stupid?
Read this story...
One truck driver was doing his usual delivery to Mental Hospital. He discovered a flat tyre when he was about to go home. He jacked up the truck and took the flat tyre down.
When he was about to fix the spare tyre, he accidentally dropped all the bolts into the drain. As he can't fish the bolts out, he started to panic.
One patient happened to walk past and asked the driver what happened. The driver thought to himself, since there's nothing much he can do; he told the patient the whole incident.
The patient laughed at him & said "can't even fix such a simple problem... no wonder you are destined to be a truck driver..."
"Here's what you can do, take one bolt each from the other 3 tyres and fix it onto this tyre (the 4th one). Then drive to the nearest workshop and replace the missing bolts, easy as that".
The driver was very impressed and asked:"You're so smart but why are you here at the Mental Hospital?"
Patient replied: "Hello, I stay here because I'm CRAZY not STUPID !"

***In dictionary term, the word crazy means a person suffering from mental disorder while stupid means slow-thinking or foolish.

STORY OF APPRECIATION...

PENCIL: You know, I'm really sorry.
ERASER: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.
PENCIL: I'm sorry 'cos you get hurt because of me. Whenever I make a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistake vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller every time.
ERASER: That's true, but I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though, one of these days, I know I'll be gone and you have to replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.
THE MORAL OF THE STORY: WE SHOULD LEARN HOW TO APPRECIATE THE EFFORT AND EXPERIENCE THE DIFFICULTY AND LEARN THE ABILITY TO WORK WITH OTHERS TO GET THINGS DONE. APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE THING YOU HAVE!!!

ONE HUNDRED RINGGIT

A very touching and inspiring story written by my nephew...

After a long tiring day at work, Wendy came home late, exhausted and irritated to find her 6-year old son, John waiting for her by the door.

John: "Mom, may I ask you a question?"
Wendy: "Yeah sure, what is it?"
John: "Mom, how much do you make an hour?"
Wendy: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"
John: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"
Wendy: "If you must know, I make RM100 an hour."
John: "Oh! (With his head down).
John: " Mom, may I please borrow RM50?"

Wendy was furious.

Wendy: "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior."

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

Wendy sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, Wendy had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that RM50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. Wendy went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

Wendy: "Are you asleep, son?"
John: "No mom, I'm awake".
Wendy: "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the RM50 you asked for."

The little boy sat straight up, smiling.

John: "Oh, thank you mom!"

Then, reaching under his pillow John pulled out some crumpled up bills. Wendy saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at her.

Wendy: "Why do you want more money if you already have some?"
John: "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do.
"Mom, I have $100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."

Wendy was crushed. She put her arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness.
............................................................................................................................................

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life.
We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
No doubt we work to provide for our loved ones but when we pour ourselves more into work than to our family, it's time to take a step back and reflect.

Thank You

MONEY

Everybody loves money. Whether we like it or loathe it, we simply  just cannot ignore it.
Yet, money is say to be the root of all evil, money is considered the tool of greedy people. Read this profound poem about the value of money…
Money can buy you…
A bed but not sleep,
Books but not brains,
Food but not appetite,
Finery but not beauty,
A house but not a home,
Medicine but not health,
Luxuries but not culture,
Amusement but not happiness,
A passport to everywhere but
       HEAVEN!

IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS

The English Language is full of idioms and figurative expressions. They make the language so interesting to learn  and use. Without idioms, our expressions become tasteless, dull and insipid.
For example go by the book means to follow the rules closely; every cloud has a silver lining means every bad situation has some good aspect to it.

That just because two people argue, It doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, It doesn't mean they do love each other.
